Why Do you Need to Ditch your Regular Shampoo and Switch to Sulfate Free Shampoo?

The popularity of sulfate-free shampoos is accelerating with each passing day as beauty aficionados’ bluster about their gentle cleansing perks and eco-friendly components. It is true that not every shampoo is sulfate-free. You can easily find paraben and so many chemicals in your shampoo. These chemicals affect the texture of your hair and make them frizzy. You certainly do not want to use a product that is adversely affecting your hair. That is why, it is advisable to use a sulfate free shampoo.

Sulfate shampoo products are created to clean the hair and the scalp. When combined with water, sulfates efficiently eliminate dead skin cells and grime from your hair and scalp.  Sulfates produce the “frothy” consistency that many people prefer while washing their hair. When using sulfate shampoos, it’s more comfortable to clean your scalp because you don’t have to scour vigorously because of the suds.

The two primary sulfates discovered in shampoos are:

  • Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS): This enables the production of rich foam in shampoos that can be easily washed away. It’s oftentimes found in shampoos and is formulated for oily hair.
  • Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES): These types of detergents offer to cleanse and foaming properties that can assist normal-to-dry hair types.

Bid adieu to nicks and cuts by getting a Safety Razor. It will help you shave properly without causing any problem.

Overexposure to sulfates might cause the breakdown of hair protein. It doesn’t just affect your hair but also affect environment. Many shampoo companies emanate sulfates by harvesting palm oil, which often annihilates forests and natural habitats.
